More EU budget for transport

Almost 45 European associations representing transport, infrastructure managers, operators, contractors, local and regional authorities, logistics service providers, shippers, users and equipment suppliers in the maritime, inland waterways, railways, road, cycling, aviation and intermodal sectors, as well as supporting industries and companies, endorse the declaration requesting more EU budget for transport.

A new transport route around Paris will save travel time

With its 68 new stations and 200 kilometers of additional tracks, Grand Paris Express consists of a double ring route around Paris to will significantly cut down travel time. It aims to revitalise the entire region surrounding the French capital through the creation of high-quality transport links. The purpose of this exercise is to avail Paris of multimodal transport solutions and  more integrated transport services to support a model of polycentric development. In 2015, the project benefited from €31 mn of EU TEN-T funding to finance preliminary studies. Over the long term the project is expected to boost the metropolitan area’s GDP by about €100bn.
